Soni, Roopali
Dr Roopali Soni has worked as Consultant Neonatologist at large multispecialty neonatal units in the United Kindgdom for 12 years and in the Middle East for the past 7 years. She did her Paediatric training in London and south of England, followed by Neonatal training in Yorkshire, UK. She has worked at a number of high-volume multi-speciality childrens’ hospitals and referral centres, and also provided ECMO services for the most complex patients. She has been in receipt of a number of awards, including Innovations Awards at national conferences in the UK.
Dr Soni’s main areas of expertise are family-centred and developmental care, neurodevelopmental follow up, neonatal functional echocardiography and POCUS and postgraduate medical education. Dr Soni has been instrumental in implementing family centred care at several neonatal units and achieving UNICEF baby friendly accreditation. She has played a key role in developing postgraduate training curriculums and starting neonatal fellowship and training programs.
Dr Soni holds the post of Associate Professor at the MBRU University in Dubai, and has previously held the post of Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London Hospital. She is an instructor at the Neonatal Life Support (Resuscitation council UK) and NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics) courses. She obtained a Masters degree in Child Health from the University of Leeds. Dr Soni is a keen researcher who has led a number of research projects and recruited to several national and international portfolio trials, which have led to a number of national and international presentations and publications in indexed journals.
